Media & Community partners

Challenge

Design and deploy autonomous AI agents that move beyond copilots — into real decision-making systems that create measurable enterprise value.

Choose a track that matches your vision:

  • 🧠 Intelligent Reasoning Use advanced reasoning to analyze inputs and make independent decisions. Your agent should be able to handle roadblocks and change its plan without human intervention.

  • 🔄 Agentic Workflows Design workflows where the agent plans its own steps, calls external tools (APIs, databases, or browsers), and manages multi-step tasks over time.

🌍 Enterprise Utility Solve a real-world friction point for the managers and entrepreneurs at AI Week.

  • 🧩 Multimodal Intelligence Leverage the ability to process images, documents, audio, or video to unlock richer interactions— such as analyzing business reports or physical environment data.

  • 🤝 Collaborative Systems Build a multi-agent system where different specialized agents coordinate and share information to achieve a high-level goal that a single LLM couldn't handle alone.

Your mission is to build and launch an AI-native product using X402 Payments - a programmable payments infrastructure designed for the next generation of agentic and automated economies.

In this edition of Launch & Fund Your Startup, you’ll have 6 days to validate an idea, build a working prototype, and present a credible path toward real users and on-chain revenue.

This challenge is open to everyone - from early-stage founders to existing startups looking to expand or pivot their products.

Your submission should clearly show how your solution integrates or reimagines X402 Payments in the context of real-world financial interaction

Tracks
Choose one - or mix and match. Each track explores a core use case of programmable payments in the age of agentic systems:

🤖 Agent-to-Agent Payments

Challenge: Build a system where two or more agents autonomously trigger and settle payments—e.g., for usage-based services, access control, or dynamic pricing. Your product should demonstrate a working agentic payment loop with minimal human input.

🧑‍💼Consumer AI Payments

Challenge: Develop an AI assistant that can make payments on a user’s behalf—with built-in rules like spending limits, approval checkpoints, or identity verification (KYC/AML). Showcase how your product handles decision-making, compliance, and safeguards.

🏢 B2B FinOps & Compliance

Challenge: Build a tool for businesses to manage real-time payments and financial operations—like tracking cash flow, enforcing policies, or generating audit-ready records. Highlight automation, accuracy, and visibility into payment activity.

🛒 On-chain Commerce Primitives

Challenge: Launch a digital product or service with a built-in revenue model using X402. Think: token-gated access, real-time rev-splits, or instant payouts to contributors. Your prototype should demonstrate seamless, trustless commerce flows.

Each team must provide:

  • ✅ GitHub repository with setup and documentation
  • ✅ Vultr VM backend deployment
  • ✅ Public demo URL
  • ✅ Recorded demo video
  • • Clear explanation of architecture and use case

Technology

  • • Use any programming language or framework
  • • Use open-source LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation workflows
  • • Vultr Serverless Inference is available for eligible projects

⚠️ Note: Vultr GPUs are not available for this event.

Vultr will provide $200 in credits per participant, available to up to 300 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Resources

Gemini is Google’s family of next-generation multimodal AI models capable of reasoning across text, images, code, video, and audio.

Google AI Studio is a browser-based environment where developers can easily prototype, test, and iterate with Gemini models before integrating them into production using the Gemini API.

Challenge:

Build intelligent agents or applications using Gemini models and Google AI Studio.

Your project should:

  • • Use Gemini via Google AI Studio or the Gemini API for reasoning, chat, or multimodal understanding
  • • Implement agent-driven or automated workflows that respond to user input, data, or context
  • • Demonstrate practical value through a working prototype or intelligent system

Recommended Gemini Models:

Participants are encouraged to select the Gemini model that best fits their agent use case:

  • Gemini Flash: Optimized for speed and low latency. Ideal for real-time applications and responsive agent workflows.
  • Gemini Pro: Designed for advanced reasoning and complex decision-making across multi-step workflows.

Example Use Cases:

  • • AI copilots and enterprise assistants
  • • Agentic commerce and workflow automation
  • • Multimodal applications using text, image, audio, or video understanding
  • • Research, analysis, and decision-support systems
  • • Customer support and conversational AI experiences

Access to Technology:

Participants can explore Gemini through two main options, both including free access.

  • Google AI Studio: A browser-based IDE for experimenting with Gemini models without API setup or billing.
  • Gemini API: Includes a free monthly allowance for text and multimodal inputs/outputs.

🔓 $300 in free Google Cloud credits are available for new Google Cloud accounts and valid for 90 days.

Credits can be used across eligible Google Cloud services, including Gemini API usage.

🔘 Learn More About Google Cloud Free Tier

🚀 How to Get Started:

  1. 1. Visit the Gemini docs
  2. 2. Follow the Quickstart Guide to explore Gemini in AI Studio
  3. 3. Experiment with multimodal prompts
  4. 4. Build and test your agent or application

📘 Resources:

Kraken is one of the most established cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, trusted by institutions and individual traders, and known for its deep liquidity and trading infrastructure.

For this hackathon, participants will work with two Kraken products:

  • Kraken CLI is an AI-native command-line interface for programmatic trading. It handles exchange complexity such as authentication, rate limiting, and order management so you can focus on your agent’s strategy logic.
  • xStocks are 1:1 asset-backed tokenized U.S. equities and ETFs that can be traded 24/7 on-chain.

Challenge:

Build an autonomous AI agent that trades xStocks, tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, using the Kraken CLI as its execution layer.

Your agent should analyze market signals, form a strategy, and execute trades programmatically without manual intervention. This could include a momentum-based stock picker, portfolio rebalancer, or event-driven trading system.

How Agents Are Ranked:

Agents in the Kraken Challenge are evaluated across two independent categories.

1️⃣ Trading Performance (PnL)

Agents are ranked purely by net PnL, realized plus unrealized, over the competition period.

How it works:

  • Submission: Each participant provides a read-only Kraken API key linked to their trading account. This allows lablab.ai and Kraken to view trade history. No execution or withdrawal access is granted.
  • Audit: Kraken performs a final audit on top agents before prizes are distributed.
  • Ranking: Winners are determined solely by net PnL at the end of the competition window.

Requirements:

  • • Agents must use Kraken CLI as the execution layer
  • • One submission per participant or team

2️⃣ Social Engagement

Build in public. Share your journey. Inspire the community.

Over a 30-day window, participants earn a Social Engagement Score based purely on quantitative metrics from public platforms, including Twitter/X, YouTube, blogs, or other channels.

How winners are determined:

  • • lablab.ai tracks engagement metrics such as impressions, likes, shares, and reach across linked social accounts
  • • Rankings are determined purely by quantitative data with no subjective judging
  • • Participants can monitor their position throughout the competition window

📣 When Posting, Tag:

Kraken

lablab.ai

Surge

🚀 How to Get Started

1. Install the Kraken CLI from the official repository

2. Configure your Kraken API access and connect it to your agent

3. Ensure you have access to the xStocks market

4.  Build an autonomous AI trading agent that analyzes signals and trades xStocks through Kraken CLI

5. Share your progress publicly as part of the Social Engagement challenge
