About

AI agents are becoming useful across enterprise work including planning, coding, research, compliance, finance, support, and operations. But most agents still operate alone, locked inside one environment, a single agentic framework, or one workflow.

Enterprise work is collaborative. Agents need to pass context, coordinate tasks, bring in other agents, involve humans, and operate across long-running business processes.

Band provides a shared environment where agents can communicate, exchange structured context, coordinate actions, discover or recruit other agents, and work together across frameworks.

For this hackathon, participants will use Band to build enterprise-ready multi-agent systems for real business workflows. Systems where agents do not just respond to prompts, but collaborate across planning, execution, review, and decision-making.

The goal is simple: build what becomes possible when agents from different frameworks, tools, and teams can discover each other, share context, and coordinate work.

Challenge

Build a Cross-Framework Multi-Agent System with Band.

Your challenge is to build a multi-agent system where at least 3 agents collaborate through Band across planning, execution, review, decision-making, or task handoff.

Projects should demonstrate real agent-to-agent collaboration through Band. Agents should communicate, share structured context, delegate work, hand off tasks, or coordinate state as part of the core workflow.

Band should be part of the actual collaboration layer, not only a thin wrapper, final notification system, or simple output channel.

  • Minimum requirement: at least 3 agents collaborating through Band.
  • Meaningful Band usage: collaboration must happen through Band, not only before or after the workflow.
  • Flexible scope: projects can focus on internal operations, software development, regulated workflows, or another strong enterprise use case.

Example Project Ideas

Strong projects should make the collaboration between agents visible, useful, and central to the workflow.

  • • A product launch workflow where research, planning, copywriting, and review agents collaborate through Band.
  • • A software delivery workflow where planner, engineer, tester, and reviewer agents hand off work across the development lifecycle.
  • • A compliance review system where policy, legal, risk, and operations agents share context before making a recommendation.
  • • A customer support escalation system where triage, knowledge, resolution, and manager-review agents work on complex tickets.
  • • A procurement workflow where analysis, vendor-risk, approval, and reporting agents coordinate decisions through Band.
🏢

Track 1: Internal Enterprise Workflows

Build multi-agent systems that help teams move work across departments, approvals, reviews, decisions, or handoffs.

Example use cases:

  • • HR, finance, or procurement workflows
  • • Sales-to-delivery handoffs
  • • Reporting, approvals, and operational coordination
  • • Customer support escalation workflows
  • • Cross-team operational workflows
💻

Track 2: Multi-Agent Software Development

Build coding-agent systems where multiple agents collaborate across planning, implementation, review, testing, documentation, or merge preparation. Builders may use Codeband as a reference implementation for multi-agent coding workflows.

Example use cases:

  • • Planner, engineer, reviewer, and tester agent workflows
  • • Cross-model code review systems
  • • Multi-agent debugging and refactoring
  • • Automated PR review and merge preparation
  • • QA, documentation, and release coordination
🛡️

Track 3: Regulated & High-Stakes Workflows

Build multi-agent systems for environments where review, traceability, escalation, and careful decision-making matter.

Example use cases:

  • • Healthcare coordination systems
  • • Financial services approval workflows
  • • Legal review and contract workflows
  • • Insurance claims and policy coordination
  • • Compliance, risk, or cybersecurity investigation workflows

Judging Criteria
Application of Technology
How effectively does the solution use Band as the coordination layer between multiple specialized agents? Strong submissions should show agents collaborating through Band with clear task handoffs, shared context, role specialization, task state, and coordination.
Presentation
How clearly does the team explain and demonstrate the solution? Strong submissions should make the multi-agent workflow easy to understand, including the problem, agent roles, Band’s role in coordination, the flow of context and handoffs, and the value created for users or the enterprise.
Business Value
How clearly does the project solve a real enterprise workflow problem? Strong submissions should address a meaningful business process, reduce manual coordination, improve decision-making, accelerate execution, or make a complex workflow easier to operate in a real organization.
Originality
How creatively does the project use multi-agent collaboration to solve the problem? Strong submissions should go beyond a simple chatbot, single-agent assistant, or linear automation, and demonstrate what becomes possible when agents can discover each other, coordinate, divide work, review outputs, escalate issues, or collaborate across frameworks.
