Kontrakt

Kontrakt is an AI-powered legal assistant built for freelancers who don't have a lawyer on retainer but still need to protect themselves before signing anything. It works two ways. The Interrogator flow starts with a plain-language description of your gig — what you're doing, for whom, and any terms you already know. Kontrakt classifies the type of work and asks a series of targeted follow-up questions, one at a time, to close common coverage gaps around payment, scope, IP ownership, cancellation, and liability. As you answer, a live coverage score updates in real time. Once every question is answered, Kontrakt generates a full contract draft on the spot, streamed into a formatted document view with numbered sections and a signature block. From there, an Exposure Report breaks down exactly what's covered, what's still missing, why each gap is risky, and what to add to fix it. The Audit flow flips the direction: paste or upload a contract someone else sent you, and Kontrakt scans it for red flags — missing kill fees, unlimited revision clauses, overly broad indemnification, unfavorable payment terms, vague IP assignment, and more. Each flagged clause is shown with the exact quoted text, a plain-English explanation of the risk, a severity rating, and the option to request a suggested rewrite. Every session is saved to a Vault so you can revisit past contracts and their exposure scores, and a Dashboard gives a running snapshot of your overall coverage across all active engagements. Kontrakt is built on TanStack Start with a real-time backend (WebSocket-driven job processing for contract generation and analysis), styled with a custom Material Design 3 token system, and deployed on Vercel. It's aimed at solo freelancers and small agencies who need contract protection without the cost or delay of hiring a lawyer for every engagement.
