HIVE OS is an autonomous multi-agent AI software engineering platform designed to simulate the collaborative workflow of a real software organization. Instead of relying on a single AI assistant to handle every stage of software planning, HIVE OS coordinates six specialized AI agents: Research, Engineering, Design, Documentation, Quality Assurance, and a CEO/Leader agent responsible for executive review and final decision making. A user submits a software idea through the HIVE OS workspace. The platform's orchestration engine coordinates the specialized agents, allowing each department to analyze the project from its own professional perspective. Research evaluates the problem and requirements, Engineering develops the technical strategy, Design defines the user experience, Documentation structures implementation guidance, and QA reviews the proposed solution. The CEO/Leader agent then evaluates the combined outputs and produces a final mission report. HIVE OS uses Fireworks AI as its cloud inference backend and DeepSeek V4 Flash as the AI model powering agent intelligence. The platform features a live agent dashboard, workflow visualization, mission execution timeline, confidence indicators, project memory, retry and recovery mechanisms, and structured AI-generated reports. The goal of HIVE OS is to demonstrate a new approach to AI-assisted software engineering, moving beyond a single chatbot toward an orchestrated AI organization where specialized agents collaborate as a coordinated engineering team.
