CATR is a Band-powered multi-agent career guidance system designed for students and parents seeking enhanced clarity in academic and career planning prior to selecting subjects, degrees, and future pathways. While initially focused on Pakistan, the issue it addresses—students, particularly in emerging markets, making academic decisions without structured guidance on subject selection, degree options, admission pathways, requisite skills, university choices, and career outcomes—is globally prevalent. CATR employs four specialized agents that collaborate via Band. The Assessment Agent extracts the student's profile, the Career Mapper Agent recommends appropriate career tracks, the Roadmap Planner Agent constructs a Pakistan-specific academic and career roadmap, and the Review & Decision Agent ensures quality, realism, assesses risk, and ultimately approves the final recommendation. The system exemplifies authentic agent-to-agent collaboration through Band, encompassing structured context sharing, task delegation, planning, review, and decision-making. CATR is not merely a chatbot; Band serves as the central collaborative layer, visibly facilitating context transfer and work coordination among agents. The product experience is presented through a React frontend, while the live Band chat showcases the multi-agent workflow. Future enhancements include a Schedule Planner Agent, calendar reminders, a parent/teacher review dashboard, student progress tracking, integration of university admission data, and PDF export functionality for final roadmaps.
Category tags:"Application of technology: Four specialized career guidance agents (Assessment, Career Mapper, Roadmap Planner, Review & Decision) using Band for context transfer. Pakistan-specific academic roadmap generation with quality review gate before final recommendation. React frontend + live Band chat display. Presentation: Clear description of the problem (students in emerging markets making uninformed academic decisions) and agent roles. Future roadmap with Schedule Planner, parent dashboard, and PDF export shows product thinking. GitHub, presentation, demo available. Business value: Career guidance for students in emerging markets is a high-impact social good problem. Pakistan (220M+ population) has limited quality career counseling resources. A structured multi-agent advisory system for subject selection and degree pathways addresses a real gap. Originality: Geographic specificity (Pakistan-specific roadmap with local university admission pathways) shows thoughtful localization. The Review & Decision agent explicitly checking for realism and risk in the roadmap before approval is a practical quality gate for sensitive life decisions."
