QUBIC offers a fast, secure, and scalable consensus layer—but it is not compatible with existing smart contract platforms like Ethereum, Polkadot, or Stellar. That’s a missed opportunity for the 17,000+ DApps already built on these ecosystems. Universal VM Hub solves this by creating a Layer 2 execution platform where developers can plug in their smart contracts in different languages (Solidity, Ink!, Soroban) and run them off-chain. The resulting contract state is hashed and stored immutably on QUBIC using a minimal settlement contract. Our architecture is inspired by rollups and RSK. We’ve built a working prototype with an EVM backend, a CRUD API, and QUBIC integration via the HashStore smart contract. After the hackathon, we’ll migrate to the Polkadot SDK to support plugin-based virtual machines, each one representing a smart contract language runtime. This approach unlocks multichain interoperability, developer freedom, and the full potential of QUBIC as a universal settlement layer. We are building the missing bridge between the smart contract world and QUBIC.
