QuillCraft: Build & Test Your Own AI Tutors

QuillCraft is a modern educational AI platform that allows users to build and test their own personalized AI tutoring bots. Instead of simply using AI, students and educators actively design the bot’s behavior by configuring its name, subject focus, personality, rules, and answer style — choosing between “Hints First” or “Direct Answers.” The platform emphasizes critical thinking and responsible AI use. When “Hints First” mode is selected, the bot is designed to guide students through reasoning rather than giving away answers directly. Every response includes a confidence score, helping users understand when the AI is certain or uncertain. Built with a clean React frontend and FastAPI backend, QuillCraft was developed as part of the AMD Developer Hackathon. The system is designed to be easily extendable for real backend integration. By enabling users to create, test, and refine their own AI tutors, QuillCraft helps develop both subject knowledge and essential AI literacy skills in an engaging, hands-on way.
