Snap or upload a photo of a bird, mammal or reptile and Critto names the species, then generates a rich, source-backed field guide: habitat, diet, size, range, where to spot it, conservation status and a fun fact — all grounded in real sources with citations. Most apps stop at a name; Critto goes deeper, so people actually learn. Every sighting earns a collectible card, weighted by rarity and conservation status. Complete sets like the Big Five to earn coins, keep a personal journal of your encounters, and browse every species in Explore to learn before you spot. The AI runs on AMD. Species identification uses a BioCLIP vision model validated on an AMD GPU via ROCm and served live through Fireworks AI. Each field-guide entry is written by a Fireworks AI language model, accessed via the AMD AI Developer Program.
