AgentWard — Multi-Agent Clinical Command Console
AgentWard is a clinical command console for emergency medicine, built on the Band SDK. Single-prompt LLMs fail in healthcare — when asked to triage, plan care, order labs, and document simultaneously, they collapse distinct clinical roles, hallucinate guidelines, and lack any verification step. Fully autonomous AI is unsafe; fully manual workflows are too slow. AgentWard solves this by decomposing the ER intake workflow into five specialized agents — TriageAgent, ManagementAgent, InvestigationAgent, DocumentationAgent, and ObserverAgent — that coordinate live through Band's multi-agent mesh, not isolated API calls. Band is the actual coordination layer: agents communicate through @mentions, share structured context, and hand off tasks with full observability. AgentWard isn't just multi-agent — it's clinically safe by design. A hard allergen guardrail scans 11 critical drug classes before any plan is generated. A Human-in-the-Loop gate pauses the pipeline after triage so a clinician must review and approve before investigations or documentation proceed. An Observer agent audits every output in real time and triggers self-correction if any agent misses a citation or clinical constraint — all visible inside the Band room. The result: a 67-year-old patient case that would take a doctor 30-60 minutes to triage, plan, and document is handled end-to-end in seconds, fully cited, fully auditable, with the clinician always in control.
