Take the Challenge!: By joining the virtual one-day hackathon, you have the opportunity to test out one of the next big things in tech! WebGPU is truly a game-changer, allowing you to use the power of machine’s GPU directly from your browser. You will be under a time limit, and with community support, to build your projects with WebGPU and benefit by learning this new technology!
Educate Yourself: Before the hackathon, make sure to go through the WebGPU educational resources (listed below) to learn key concepts. There you will find a guide on setting up the development environment with code examples so you're ready to start building!
Build and Present Your Solution!: During the hackathon, the lablab.ai community and mentors will be ready to help you work through any challenges that arise with your project. On the final day, show off your WebGPU project by presenting a video pitch hosted on the lablab.ai platform!

How to get started with WebGPU?

WebGPU is a next-gen web standard that allows developers to harness the power of the GPU (graphics processing unit) directly from web browsers. Here are some use cases to explore:

Immersive 3D Graphics and Visualization: Build stunning 3D experiences, visualizations, and next-level games powered by the GPU.
High-Performance General Computing: Harness parallel processing for computations in physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, AI, and more.

Join lablab.ai for the 24-hour challenge and explore the potential of the WebGPU API. Find all the relevant details below.

🗓️ Where and when

The hackathon will start on August 10th and will run for over 24 hours. The hackathon will take place on the lablab.ai platform and lablab.ai Discord server.

😅 What about teams?

If you don't have a team, don't worry! You can connect with other participants from all over the world on our dashboard or Discord server. We also recommend checking out our Discord server to find teammates and bounce around ideas. You can join the server here

🛠️ How to participate

The hackathon will take place online on lablab.ai platform and lablab.ai Discord Server. Please register for both in order to participate. To participate click the "Enroll" button at the bottom of the page and read our Hackathon Guidelines and Getting Started Guide.
