Phi-2 is an upgraded version of Phi-1.5 and provides impressive capabilities in 'common sense,' 'language understanding,' and 'logical reasoning'. Phi-2 outperforms the 13B Llama-2 and 7B Mistral. Trained by the Microsoft research team using 'textbook-quality' data, including synthetic datasets, general knowledge, theory of mind, and daily activities, Phi-2 employs a transformer-based model with a next-word prediction objective.
