Instead of relying on static automation rules, GridMind continuously analyzes energy production, household demand, electricity prices, weather conditions, and battery status to make intelligent real-time decisions. The platform uses a hybrid AI architecture that dynamically routes requests between lightweight local models and larger language models depending on the complexity of the task. This approach minimizes inference costs while maintaining high-quality decision making and explanations for the user. GridMind optimizes when to store excess solar energy, when to charge or discharge the battery, when to buy electricity from the grid, and when selling energy back to the grid becomes economically beneficial. The system also includes a realistic energy simulation engine that models household consumption, seasonal solar generation, dynamic electricity pricing, battery degradation, and EV charging behavior. Beyond automation, GridMind acts as an intelligent energy advisor. Every decision is transparent and explainable, allowing homeowners to understand why the AI recommends a specific strategy and how much money and CO₂ emissions can be saved.
