
Agent Economy is an autonomous AI micro-economy where six specialized agents negotiate prices and pay each other in real-time using Circle Nanopayments on Arc. THE PROBLEM: Traditional blockchain gas fees make micropayments impossible. A $0.005 payment with $2 gas simply doesn't work. AI agents need to transact with each other at sub-cent levels to build real machine-to-machine economies. THE SOLUTION: We built a system where AI agents hire each other, bid competitively, complete tasks, and settle payments instantly - all gasless via Circle's EIP-3009 signed authorizations. THE AGENTS: - Atlas (Coordinator): Posts tasks, manages budgets, hires workers - Nova & Quantum (Researchers): Web search, data analysis - Echo (Writer): Content creation and editing - Babel (Translator): Multi-language localization - Verify (Fact-checker): Source verification HOW IT WORKS: 1. Coordinator posts a task with a budget 2. Eligible agents submit competitive bids 3. Lowest bidder wins the work 4. Task completes, payment settles instantly 5. All transactions verifiable on Arc Explorer We've processed 50+ real on-chain transactions, all under $0.01 each. This proves that agent-to-agent commerce is viable when gas costs are eliminated.
