Dr. Muhammad Waseem is an AI/ML researcher, educator, and developer specializing in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and multimodal systems. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, where his research focuses on advanced generative frameworks, particularly text-to-video generation using LLM-guided diffusion models. He has strong experience working with LLMs, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic systems, and multimodal AI, with a focus on building scalable and real-world applications. He is affiliated with the Intelligent Criminology Research Lab (ICRL) at Al-Khwarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET Lahore, where he contributes to applied AI research across healthcare, sustainability, and social systems. His project portfolio includes AI-assisted clinical documentation tools, multimodal medical chatbots, Urdu text-to-image generation systems, and computer vision solutions such as fire detection and medical image analysis using deep learning models. He has also worked on accessibility tools for visually impaired individuals and AI systems addressing healthcare challenges. Dr. Waseem has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conferences, including IEEE Access, covering areas such as generative AI, explainable AI, recommendation systems, and social bot detection. His work reflects a balance between theoretical innovation and practical deployment. In addition to research, he serves as a Computer Science Lecturer with the Higher Education Department, Punjab, where he teaches Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and programming-related subjects. He is proficient in Python and experienced with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV, along with MLOps practices for deploying AI systems.
