The platform automatically extracts text using multimodal vision AI and OCR, builds a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) knowledge base, and allows users to have natural conversations with their documents. Instead of reading hundreds of pages, users can ask questions like "What are my obligations?", "Are there hidden charges?", "What documents are missing?", or "Summarize this in simple language." Civic.ai provides accurate, citation-based answers directly from the uploaded document while reducing AI hallucinations through semantic retrieval. The platform automatically detects document type, extracts key information, generates concise summaries, highlights risks, identifies important deadlines, and explains technical or legal language in plain English. It also supports multilingual interactions, enabling users to understand official documents in their preferred language. Civic.ai is built with a modern full-stack architecture featuring a responsive React frontend, FastAPI backend, Firebase Authentication, PostgreSQL, vector search, and high-performance AI inference powered by AMD Developer Cloud. Multimodal vision models process scanned and image-based documents, while embedding models and vector databases enable fast semantic search across document content.
