SmartRoute AI is an intelligent AI request routing platform that dynamically directs queries between local and cloud models to minimize costs without sacrificing quality. Built with React, TypeScript, and Supabase, it solves the problem of overspending on expensive AI APIs. The Intelligent Router Agent analyzes each prompt's complexity in real time — simple questions route to free local models (Ollama), medium queries go to cheap cloud models (Gemini Flash at $0.000075/1k tokens), and complex reasoning tasks escalate to powerful models (GPT-4o). A SHA-256 cache layer delivers instant responses for repeated queries at zero cost. Key features include a real-time cost analytics dashboard, manual routing overrides (local-only, cloud-only, or auto), multi-provider support (OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama), and secure API key management via Supabase Edge Functions. The result is a unified AI interface that cuts costs by up to 95% while maintaining response quality.
