AESTREA NanoRisk Exchange introduces a new economic model for AI systems: pay-per-reasoning intelligence. Instead of charging for a single API call, AESTREA meters the internal actions of AI decision-making itself, including risk detection, signal normalization, MCTS reasoning branches, KV-cache reuse, pruning, memory writes, and execution simulation. The platform simulates a full DeFi risk-to-execution lifecycle using scenarios such as oracle staleness, whale dumps, and liquidity collapse. Each step in the decision process is priced as a sub-cent nano-payment using USDC. To demonstrate real-world viability, AESTREA integrates Circle’s Nanopayments (x402) infrastructure through a backend service. The first three actions in each simulation attempt real payment authorization and settlement via Circle Gateway on Arc Testnet. The remaining 50+ actions simulate identical payment flows to showcase the full scale of an agentic economy without introducing latency during the demo. AESTREA proves that traditional gas-based payment systems are fundamentally incompatible with high-frequency AI decision-making. By leveraging Arc and Circle’s nanopayment architecture, the system enables a new class of financial infrastructure where AI agents can buy and sell intelligence in real time. This project demonstrates how sub-cent payments unlock scalable, autonomous, and economically viable AI systems across finance and robotics.
