TariffPilot turns a plain-English product description into its 6-digit HS code, import duty, and licensing restrictions — with the official government source URL behind every number. A three-signal RAG pipeline (keyword search, semantic vectors, and LLM arbitration) nominates and validates candidates, so it never invents a code. The reasoning model, gpt-oss-20b, is self-hosted on an AMD Instinct MI300X via vLLM on ROCm, with Fireworks API as fallback. For now it spans medical, ammunition, watches, and spirits across the USA, UK, EU, and UAE, and has a lot more scope for scalability as there are 9000+ products across hundreds of product families and tens of import markets.
