About me

I'm Mohammad Aakefin, a results-driven Senior Software Engineer based in Mumbai, India. I've recently joined Locobuzz, where I'm continuing my work as a Senior Software Engineer. With over three years of experience, I specialize in Python, cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, and CI/CD practices. In the last few years, I've dived deep into artificial intelligence, focusing on building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) agents and leveraging LLMs. My professional journey before Locobuzz was entirely at KAN Innovations, where I grew from an intern to a senior leader. I started as a Python & Game Developer Intern , where I explored 3D modeling in the Unity Game Engine and had a big win deploying a gaming module that led to a 30% increase in company sales. From there, I was promoted to a Junior Software Developer , which is where I really honed my skills in end-to-end web development using Python, Flask, and Django. In my most recent role as a Senior Software Engineer, I took on leadership responsibilities. I directed a team to successfully deliver a critical project for a governmental initiative and led code review sessions to maintain high-quality standards. My optimization work on one of our codebases resulted in a 25% reduction in system resource consumption. A major highlight was initiating and managing the company's first AI-focused team, where I led the development of our 'Vidur AI' RAG agent. Beyond that, I've designed and built a cloud-based auto-update system using AWS Lambda and S3 and have experience integrating C# with Python for a Unity-based game application. I hold a Masters of Computer Application from NMIMS University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Mumbai University. I'm fluent in English and Hindi, with intermediate proficiency in Arabic. Outside of work, I'm a big enthusiast of sports and gaming.
