AI Personal Safety Guardian is a full-stack web app enhancing personal safety using AI-powered multi-modal threat analysis. Powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash AI, it evaluates threats in text, images, videos, and audio, offering real-time detection, actionable guidance, and safe route recommendations. It features four modules: Text Analysis identifies emotional cues, danger indicators, and location risks from written descriptions; Image Analysis detects suspicious behavior, hazards, and threats in photos; Video Analysis monitors movements, aggression, and environmental dangers over time; Audio Analysis recognizes distressed voices, alarms, and threatening sounds. Each module provides threat levels, confidence scores, and recommended safety actions. The Safe Route Guidance module helps users navigate to secure destinations using geolocation, AI risk assessment, and suggested routes. Recommended destinations include police stations, hospitals, well-lit public areas, and transit hubs, with step-by-step instructions. An interactive chat interface allows users to describe situations, upload files, and receive contextual AI responses. The Emergency Quick Guide provides instant access to safety information, self-defense tips, and emergency contacts. The frontend uses Next.js, React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS; the backend uses Node.js, Express.js, and Multer for file uploads. Gemini AI integration handles multiple API keys, rate limits, retries, and errors. Security includes file validation, temporary storage, CORS protection, and input sanitization. Designed with a mobile-first, user-friendly interface, the app emphasizes accessibility, responsiveness, and safety-first navigation. Use cases include analyzing situations, planning safe routes, monitoring environments via audio/video, and emergency readiness. AI Personal Safety Guardian demonstrates how modern AI can improve personal safety, providing users an intuitive, reliable, multi-modal threat assessment platform.
