With many travelers staying places longer- ie- digital nomads, gap year, remote workers, etc- they want to better assimilate and understand the local culture while having more meaningful experiences. A large secondary market of tourism exists in several countries of localized, personal tour guides that is not currently online in any central booking platform. Mostly travelers connect with these types of cultural experience and tour makers by word of mouth or by hotel referrals. While some of these tours can be amazing, there are also many safety and potential scam issues that arise for both travelers and locals who are giving tours because there is no central booking system. What I have been working on is a central booking system that connects travelers with locals so they can learn more about the authentic culture based on the traveler's interests while providing service provider and user feedback to improve price transparency, fair labor standards and overall positive experiences. Using a app powered by a system of AI agents, Travelogie helps travelers cultivate a personalized itinerary based on their interests (ie- music, sports, culture, tech, art, theater, nature) and local experiences (not just main tourist attractions). Many people would rather tailor their own personalized tours to find local scenes they are into. In several global markets, this not only is more appealing for travelers, but it can also be more cost effective and support locals rather than big companies. Rather than tourism being exploitative to local economies, this can add back into communities while creating an upside for Travelogie. While GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Perplexity, etc- all provide tourism lists- these lists do not populate with photos and each link has to be further researched- which actually does not simplify the booking process- it just gives extra links to research. Our platform lets users select from a check list, finalize and then checkout seamlessly.
