At the "Build Your AI Startup Hackathon," the Champs Team presents BMO, an innovative solution designed to enhance the lives of autistic children and their families through advanced technology and empathetic design. Autistic children, who have unique ways of feeling, thinking, and expressing love, often face significant challenges in communication and social interaction. According to the CDC, in 2023, around 1 in 36 children in the U.S. were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and research shows these children frequently experience high levels of stress and anxiety due to difficulties in navigating social situations, impacting their academic performance and overall development. To address these issues, BMO combines computer vision, speech recognition, and generative AI to analyze facial expressions, understand spoken words, and generate empathetic responses, creating a meaningful and supportive interaction. BMO, a gentle and interactive companion, engages children through voice interactions, educational content, and storytelling, while the integrated BMO website provides parents with detailed insights, charts tracking repeated words, and analyses of emotional responses. The website also features a versatile chatbot for personalized interactions and serves as an informative hub about BMO and its features, offering a comprehensive solution to support the unique needs of autistic children.
Temo is an innovative platform designed to enhance the development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) while providing valuable support to their families. Central to Temo is an advanced AI-powered chatbot that engages children in interactive, tailored conversations. Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms, the chatbot adapts its responses based on the child’s input, helping them develop emotional and social skills through dynamic interactions.
