Our Supply Chain Crisis Manager revolutionizes enterprise crisis response through sophisticated AI agent orchestration built on IBM watsonx Orchestrate. We designed a multi-agent architecture where three specialized AI agents collaborate seamlessly: the Crisis Orchestrator acts as coordinator, the Threat Detector validates disruptions with severity scoring, and the Impact Analyzer calculates financial exposure and customer impact. The architecture leverages watsonx Orchestrate's powerful orchestration capabilities to create dynamic workflows where agents automatically hand off tasks, share context, and work in parallel. When a Shanghai port closure threatened $65M in cargo, our system demonstrated true multi-agent intelligence - validating the threat at severity 8/10, calculating $23.4M exposure, identifying top affected customers, and delivering a coordinated response in under 2 minutes versus traditional 3-day manual processes. Built with enterprise-grade design patterns, our solution features knowledge bases for port risk data and customer information, integrated tools for risk assessment and stakeholder notifications, and scalable agent specifications that can extend to any supply chain disruption scenario. This represents not just AI automation, but intelligent coordination that preserves 89% of orders during crises while providing real-time visibility and proactive stakeholder communications. The technical implementation showcases watsonx Orchestrate's full capabilities through YAML-based agent configurations, collaborator routing, and LLM integration with IBM Granite models, delivering a production-ready solution that transforms how enterprises manage supply chain resilience.
