
HELIOS is a real-time solar storm intelligence system built on AMD Instinct MI300X. It runs four specialized AI agents in parallel: NASA/IBM Surya-1.0 detects X-class flares directly from live SDO solar imagery, a physics agent reads DSCOVR magnetic field data using the Burton empirical formula, an impact mapper translates storm intensity into latitude-specific infrastructure risk, and a Llama 3.1 8B command agent synthesizes operator-ready alert bulletins. Current systems like DSCOVR give operators 15–30 minutes of warning when a CME physically arrives at Earth. HELIOS detects the flare at the solar source — validated against the May 2024 Gannon G5 storm, using real NASA archives — issuing warnings 95 hours before impact.
