This November, IFC is giving staff the chance to explore and build with advanced AI tools in a collaborative, hands-on setting. Knowvember is all about bringing together our team’s diverse skills to create real solutions. With support from AI experts and the opportunity to work across different disciplines, this hackathon is designed to help you turn your ideas into something meaningful.
Hackathon Challenge
Explore how Generative AI can address challenges across IFC.
Participants will leverage AI to solve real-world challenges, fostering innovation, collaboration, and improved knowledge management. Each team will select one or more of the following areas to focus on, developing solutions that enhance engagement, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
Challenge Areas:
1. Content Simplification and Visualization
📝 Objective: Simplify complex information into concise, creative formats.
Example 1: Automated Report Summarization
• Convert lengthy reports into easy-to-read summaries.
Example 2: Interactive Data Dashboards
• Make complex data engaging and user-friendly.
Example 3: Presentation Note Generation
• Transform technical data into scripts and infographics.
2. Knowledge Relevance and Accessibility
📚 Objective: Use AI to create organized, accessible information repositories.
Example 1: Smart Document Management
• Tag and categorize documents for easy access.
Example 2: Knowledge Graphs
• Visualize connections between information pieces.
Example 3: Automated Content Updates
• Keep repositories current with AI-driven updates.
3. Gamification of Knowledge Engagement
🎮 Objective: Make knowledge-sharing interactive and rewarding through gamification.
Example 1: Knowledge Quizzes
• Engage staff with quizzes and instant feedback.

Note: Teams may work on one or multiple challenges to explore the potential of Generative AI across different KM areas within IFC.

Impact & Practicality
Measures the solution’s reach, including the number of people affected, and evaluates its feasibility and ease of implementation.
Problem Statement
Assesses the clarity and relevance of the problem being addressed, ensuring it aligns well with IFC’s objectives.
Creativity
Evaluates the uniqueness and innovation of the approach, encouraging fresh and imaginative solutions.
Solutions
Examines the effectiveness and completeness of the proposed solution in addressing the identified problem.
The start date of the hackathon is mentioned according to the date specified on the hackathon page, cover and schedule. The hackathon will take place on the lablab.ai platform and lablab.ai Discord server.
Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of previous AI or coding experience! We encourage anyone with a passion for AI or an interest in exploring how it can be used in their field to join.
If you don’t have a team, no problem! Connect with colleagues through IFC’s internal channels to form teams. For brainstorming and sharing ideas, join our Discord server—a great space to discuss, get inspired, and prepare for the hackathon.
