This project was born out of our shared experiences as software engineers navigating the complexities of the onboarding process at different companies. We recognized the need for a more seamless and efficient approach to dealing with large codebases, especially in regards to learning new large codebases and increasing the productivity while working with a Github Issue or Pull Request, so we were inspired to create a solution that streamlines the process for others in the future. Oftentimes, even the most experienced developers find it overwhelming to understand large codebases or understand the context of a Pull Request or Issue as we often try to go back and forth to understand the relevant piece of code. So, we wanted to leverage the power of AI21 Studio's Jurassic LLMs to simplify this process and help solve this problem. Our novel Chrome extension namely CodePrime revolutionizes the process of dealing with large codebases by utilizing AI to analyze codebases. It can provide information about a specific function, file, or how multiple functions work together or what certain Github issue is about, or Pull Request is about or help you assess a PR. CodePrime also features intelligent code navigation, automated code documentation generation, and context-aware code suggestions for code, Github Issues and Pull Requests. With our extension, developers can quickly grasp complex code bases, find relevant information, close issues and merge Pull Requests with much higher efficiency.
