I'm Nick Vazquez, a machine learning engineer with three years of experience in Deep and Reinforcement Learning techniques. My passion for technology and its potential to solve some of the world's most pressing problems led me to focus on using my expertise to address the challenges of climate crisis and economic inequality. Currently, I'm pursuing a degree in aeronautical engineering, with a particular interest in the intersection of technology, engineering, and sustainability. I believe that modern technology, especially in the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence, can help create innovative solutions for global challenges. I've honed my skills in machine learning by working on a range of projects, from developing intelligent systems to optimizing resource allocation for renewable energy generation. Ajakatl AI es una iniciativa tecnológica innovadora que aborda una necesidad crítica en México: el acceso a servicios públicos para los 7.3 millones de habitantes que hablan lenguas indígenas. Nuestro proyecto se centra en el desarrollo de AjakatlLlama3.2-3B, un modelo de lenguaje artificial especializado basado en la arquitectura Llama 3.2. Este sistema integra tecnologías de vanguardia, incluyendo Direct Preference Optimization y entrenamiento con modelos avanzados como Claude 3.5 Sonnet, para proporcionar traducciones precisas y culturalmente apropiadas en lenguas como Náhuatl, Maya y Otomí. Nuestra solución va más allá de la simple traducción: implementamos un sistema RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) que permite acceder, comprender y explicar documentos gubernamentales de manera clara y contextualizada. Lo que distingue a Ajakatl AI es su enfoque holístico hacia la inclusión digital. No solo traducimos contenido, sino que construimos puentes de comunicación que permiten a las comunidades indígenas interactuar efectivamente con servicios gubernamentales en sus lenguas nativas. Este proyecto representa un paso significativo hacia la democratización de la tecnología y el acceso equitativo a servicios públicos en México, respetando y preservando la riqueza lingüística del país.
