Bioengineering is a vast, growing space with many different focuses that have always fascinated me, but I was never certain which area truly resonates with me. However, after reflecting on my past projects and work experiences, I am now confident in declaring that I enjoy developing solutions that can aid in the early detection of diseases! I have tackled this issue from a wide variety of angles such as iOS app development for creating consistent, high-quality models for dermatologists to early diagnose skin conditions; designing a Raspberry Pi and IR camera setup to capture emission of fluorophores attached to probes associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI); and developing machine learning models to aid hospitals early classify lung cancer severity to reduce waiting period for patients to receive their appropriate treatment. I want my work to be attainable and viable for a vast amount of people and I believe this can be achieved by leveraging computer science and data science tools in the context of healthcare. Thus, for the past few years, I have been fortifying my skills in these areas through my projects, work experiences, and coursework taken during my bachelor's at UC San Diego and master's at UC Berkeley. I hope to continue along this trajectory at companies who share my vision and desire to create long-lasting impact!
