Touch interfaces are amazing for fast prototyping, but the endgame of any interface is to become so refined and simple that it serves it's purpose embodied in a physical object. Musicians and audio engineers know this well and have a whole industry dedicated to create amazing and useful physical interfaces. Our hands provide immediate and unbeatable feedback when it pushes a knob or fader. Response is instant. Corrections are seamless. No ghost touch, no blocking information on the screen, not weird finger movements and gestures.
Artists NEED control. Mouse and keyboard interface is amazing in terms of control, but it lacks feedback. Let's spice it up with some good ol' tangible control surfaces.
