Creating any hardware project requires a lot of time to source parts and even more time to make them work together. In the future, everyone will be an engineer, as long as they have ideas they want to bring to life. The market for creating new engineering tools isn’t just for engineers—it’s for all builders, it’s for everyone. AI agents can help close the gap between ideas and reality. Every engineer will gain more agency. The future of engineering tools isn’t about targeting only engineers, but anyone capable of generating ideas. These tools will be simple to use, expanding the market. Deep tech is just at the beginning. What does the future look like? Every corporation will have agents acting as communication proxies for what they are building. We’ll need to create new CAD tools and redefine standards so they become AI-native. One application will contain everything—components, power analysis, aerodynamics, performance, signal analysis, and more. The next step for this project is to fine-tune Llama on a wide range of datasheets. I’ve started this, but finding high-quality data takes time. If you fine-tune a model on bad data, it’s often better just to use prompt engineering instead.

"I really liked this project—extremely creative, especially with the idea of a dependency graph for hardware. However, it wasn’t immediately clear what you were trying to do until I saw the graph, which made the problem you were solving obvious. From a business proposition standpoint, you could improve the initial explanation. The backend is very sophisticated, which shows the value of the application. I’d suggest focusing more on explaining the use case, like how building a drone from scratch was challenging, and this agent solved that issue. That makes it a really powerful application with great industry potential. You could even build blog posts around DIY projects and how this tool simplifies the process. Overall, it’s very well done—just improve the use case presentation, and it’s fantastic"

"Great idea, super helpful in the workflow!"

"One of the more impressive projects in the batch. A clear value proposition, and something I would actually use for personal hobby hardware projects, and for tracking down suppliers for prototypes"
